Why-Not-Chee
Part of the Unravel The Gravel series of events over the Summer of 2022
The Why-Not-Chee was July 16th and is one of three events over the Summer. GHARC along with members from Olympia Amateur Radio Society, OARS provided communications support for a bicycle race around Wynoochee Lake. This location has always been a difficult area due to lack of RF coverage. There is no or minimal celluar coverage and no amateur repeaters covering the actual lake itself.
We even found that due to the "bowl" type geographic features, even Starlink had issues with the location.
